Maibang Municipal Board is the one of the four Municipal Board of the Dima Hasao district which was established in the year 1985 of March. At present the Maibang Municipal Board consist of 10Nos. of wards with a population of 20664 nos. (approax) which covers an area of 10sq. km. The Municipality authority of Maibang is consistently working hard to provide better, clean, hygienic urban facilities to the citizen of the town. Maibang Municipal Board has total administration over 2195 nos. households to which it supplies basic urban amenities. The Municipality has various sources of revenue and also receives annual grant from the Government. It levies taxes on holdings, stalls, open spaces, markets coming under jurisdiction. The Board also maintains a sanitary branch to ensure proper hygenic conditions in the town and performs necessary activities related to sewerage management and solid waste management. Towards this end the board is also engaged in door to door collection and disposal of garbage.
